Rosebud Conservation District
YRCDC River Tour, Day 1
The first stop on the tour was at Intake,
near Sidney, MT. Intake is an irrigation
diversion on the Yellowstone River. It
provides irrigation water for farmers in
eastern Montana and part of North

irrigation to 52, 133 acres of land via a
71.6 mile canal
Recently the Yellowstone River Conservation District Council toured the
lower Yellowstone River. The group traveled via van from Billings, picking
up people along the way.
Here the group listened to various
government agencies and groups talk
about the endangered Pallid Sturgeon.
Buzz Mattelin, MACD president and
Tony Barone, Richland C D attended
the tour.
